Since 2001 the Evergreen Tandem Club has been spreading the joy of tandeming in the greater Puget Sound area and beyond. We are a collection of tandem enthusiasts from all over the Pacific Northwest who like to ride and spread the joys of tandeming. Our goal is to provide, sponsor and support tandem bicycling events throughout the Pacific Northwest. We have fun member-led rides, workshops and social events that appeal to those who ride and are interested in tandems at just about any level. We welcome those who ride “half-bikes” to join us as well!
We are excited to be hosting the 2017 rally for the second time in our history, this time based out of the University of Washington in Northeast Seattle. The Routes Team is planning a diverse weekend with rides out to Bainbridge Island and the Kitsap Peninsula, another day to Discovery Park, West Seattle, Alki Point and Mercer Island and yet another day will be headed north and east to the beautiful Sammamish River Valley. And we have lots of great ideas for fun things to do when not biking around the beautiful Puget Sound area. There will be a BBQ, a beer garden, a banquet, a night out to watch racing at the velodrome at Marymoor, opportunities for canoeing or kayaking around Portage Bay, a guided tour of Fremont to visit the troll, Theo’s chocolate factory and the statue of Lenin and a visit to the Ballard Locks, root beer floats and more!
