This past weekend Voler attended the Seattle Bike Expo. We exhibited our retail and custom lines in a 10’ X 20’ booth. It’s the first time we have attended the show in over ten years. It was a bit of journey to make it out from California due to multiple cancelled flights and delays; but all in all well worth it. Luckily Russ and Cyndy our Pacific Northwest reps had the booth all ready to go by the time I showed up.
The Venue at the Smith Cove Cruise Terminal (Port 91) in Seattle created an enjoyable atmosphere despite the gloom and rain outside. I was amazed to see how many people rode their bikes to the event on Sunday despite the constant rain. From what I was told, that is just normal for Seattle.
Cascade Bicycle Club put on amazing event: a variety of speakers, demonstrations, and all types of vendors from local cycling events to large bike manufacturers, there was something for everyone. We loved seeing all types of riders from little kids to master’s racers.
Renovo Hardwood Bicycles amazed me, I had no idea people where making bikes out of hardwood. The craftsmanship on these bikes blew my mind, I felt like I was at a museum seeing art on display. It’s no surprise that Renovo bikes are on display at the Portland Art Museum.
Green Guru was at the show and I loved how they extend their upcycled way of doing things all the way to their booth. By scavenging pallets before the show and zip tying them together cuts down on costs, travel expenses, and effectively provides a way to display their wares.
We love seeing the vibrant cycling community in Seattle. Hats off to Cascade Bicycle Club for putting on a top notch event.
